İbn Battuta , the famous Araba traveler, wrote "From Alanya I went to Antaliya (Adalia )the most beautiful city. It covers an immense area, and though of vast bulk is one of the most attractive towns to be seen everywhere "

In the fourteenth century, the time when Ibn Battuta visited Antalya was of a considered inhabitation and has a lot of different  neighborhoods in which Greeks, Turkish, and others live

Antalya 'history is very long. So, let's go back to the first known urban settlement in the Hellenistic Era. Moreover, the name of the city is derived from a Greek Athenian tribe. Then, in later times, the city was dominated by the Romans, who built the Triple Gate, in honor of the Roman Emperor Hadrian who had visited Antalya for the first time . After that, Antalya had known Christianity after the visit of the Apostles, which had been registered in " The Acts of Apostles " .Finally, Islam  spread over Minor Asia. Muslim Seljuks, then Ottomans dominated Antalya. ThiThis lasted until the end of World War I. At last, it became a part of the Modern Turkish Republic.

The original city is located within the old walls which shape like a horse nail. It's called (Kaleiçi )or the castle. The old narrow streets, the old harbor, and the old Ottoman houses can be seen. The scattered ottoman and Seljuk ruins can be seen all over Kaleiçi, like towers, masjids as well as churches .
