Damlatash means the drop stone, due to the Water drops that drop of the stones in the cave

It's the old cave of stone formations, that have been formed for 15 thousand years.

It begins with an entrance, which is 50 meters long. Then, it leads to an amazing basement, in which stone formations ascend from the ceiling.

The cave was discovered in 1948 by accident. There were operations in a quarry, that was opened as a source of stones that were used in constructing the harbor. 

The cave is the first in Turkey to be opened before the tourists. It is famous for the cure characteristics of its atmosphere. It's full of carbon dioxide, a humidity of 95%, as will as a stable temperature of 22-23° C in all seasons. The previously mentioned reasons, explain why the cave is a perfect choice for Asthma patients. For that, thousands of tourists and patients come to the cave, they can have treatment sessions inside the cave every day for 21 days.
